About us

A Holistic Approach to Life and Health

The treatment program that we apply is based on a holistic approach. Life has multiple dimensions which cannot be separated but are directly interrelated with one another. Man is a physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual being integrated in a context and in perpetual interdependence with the world around him. All this has to be kept in mind when treating a sick person. In our individualized treatment program, we do not only work on bringing relief from a certain set of symptoms, but seek to understand the reasons for their development and address the true underlying causes of disease.

Our Motivation

While Woodland is inspired by and founded on christian principles, we welcome people of all faith and religions. We believe that most of our sicknesses are a result of departing from the laws that govern our physical health.

Our philosophy is to minister to individuals on all levels, reaching people where they are and helping them physically, mentally and spiritually. We believe in treating by changing lifestyles, not just addressing the symptoms.

A Life of Simplicity and Community

Life at Woodland is simple. You will not find impressive facilities here or a diversity of offers for sports and entertainment. What you will find is the beauty of nature, dedicated personal care, and time and peacefulness for reflection and recreation. The Retreat is run within a family like setting, embedded in a large organic garden from which we obtain great part of our food. There is a dynamic coming and going of visitors and volunteer workers, turning the Retreat into a colorful and vivid community in which every single person is contributing to making Woodland the place it is.

Setting

Woodland has been founded in the quiet valley of Entre Aguas, surrounded by fragrant pines and eucalyptus trees and bordered by two pearling brooks. This secluded, natural environment presented the ideal setting for the establishment of a Retreat where people could come to find rest and restoration.
